Big Bang unites fans worldwide via social networking

In celebration of their sixth anniversary, Big Bang has just created an official Twitter account for their fans worldwide. The ‘Global VIP’ Twitter also marks the first stage of the 2012 Big Bang 6th Anniversary Event ‘Still Love VIP’.

A message was posted on YG Entertainment’s official homepage, announcing: “Though we come from different countries, because of Big Bang we’ve become one under the name VIP. Please look forward to various events that are being planned for fans all over the world.”VIPS across the globe have now begun following the said Twitter account and are now looking forward to the second stage of the ‘Still Love VIP’ event happening on June 20, KST.

Beastie Boy Died - Beastie Boys Co-Founder Adam Yauch Dead at 47

Adam Yauch, one of the founding members of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame rap trio the Beastie Boys, died on Friday (May 4) at the age of 47 after a lengthy battle with cancer. The news was announced on the GlobalGrind website, which is run by Def Jam Records co-founder Russell Simmons, the man who signed the Beasties to their first label deal. "GlobalGrind is confirming this very sad news," read the post. "One of our heroes, Adam Yauch aka MCA of the Beastie Boys has passed this morning after a long bout with cancer. Our prayers go out to the family of Adam and the entire Beastie Boys crew."

Yauch co-founded the Beastie Boys with Mike "Mike D" Diamond and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz in 1979. The band started off as a hardcore punk group, but soon began experimenting with hip-hop. The band broke huge with their first proper album, Licensed to Ill, in 1986; it was the biggest-selling rap album of the decade and the first to reach Number One on the Billboard chart. Further albums Paul's Boutique, Check Your Head and Ill Communication cemented the Beasties as a true superstar act.

In addition to his career with the Beastie Boys, Yauch was heavily involved in the movement to free Tibet. A founder of the Milarepa Fund, Yauch was instrumental in the first Tibetan Freedom Concert in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park 1996, which drew 100,000 people – the largest U.S. benefit concert since 1985's Live Aid. After 9/11, Yauch and the Beastie Boys organized New Yorkers Against Violence, a concert benefit for some of the victims least likely to receive help from elsewhere.
Yauch also directed many of the Beastie Boys' music videos under the pseudonym Nathaniel Hornblower. In 2002, he launched the film production company Oscilloscope Laboratories. As a filmmaker, he directed the 2006 Beastie Boys concert film Awesome; I Fuckin' Shot That! and the 2008 basketball documentary Gunnin' for That #1 Spot, and his production company released the acclaimed Banksy movie Exit Through the Gift Shop.

I actually shot my CGOW set in an abandon warehouse parking lot in Florida; it was such a fun experience. It was located off a quiet residential road and people who were driving by kept trying to stop to take a peek! It actually kept the photographer Matt Robinson and I giggling a lot during the shoot.

June 2012 is certain to be yet another month when some of this year’s most anticipated releases will be unleashed on your eager ears.
Upcoming albums for June include releases by Linkin Park, Smashing Pumpkins, the Offspring + more. Linkin Park will reveal ‘Living Things’ next month, their fifth studio album and follow-up to 2010′s ‘A Thousand Suns.’ The first single from the album, ‘Burn It Down,’ was introduced to the world on April 16, receiving mostly positive reviews from critics and fans.
Smashing Pumpkins are also set to debut their ninth studio album, ‘Oceania’ on June 19. The following week will see two more highly anticipated albums from both The Offspring and Gojira.

Other albums set to drop this June include Fear Factory‘s ‘The Industrialist,’ P.O.D.‘s ‘Murdered Love,’ Dying Fetus’ ‘Reign Supreme,’ Rush‘s ‘Clockwork Angels’ + many more.
